Pool time

After the beach and quiet time in the room.  We headed down to the hotel pool.  Hailey liked that a lot!  Then we went to dinner and walked around Carlsbad Village.

Silly!

AZ Desert girls bundled by the fire in the hotel during the chilly 75 degree weather.  Brrrrr.

The hotel has this old phone booth out front with areal working phone!
The girls heard a ring tone!

Beach Day

We were able to escape to Carlsbad last week.  We spent one day at the beach.  Although I love living in the desert, I still feel at home & relaxed on the beach.  I'm so happy that we are able to take them to the beach so they can enjoy things that I grew up with too.  They are lucky little girls to have a Beach Mama and a Mountain Dada.  They get both worlds.  I think Paige is a beach lover and Hailey a mountain girl by the way they individually react to each situation.  Paige played in the waves all afternoon and Hailey helped me make a sandcastle under the umbrella.
Always fun to sleep together in a hotel room.

Paige loved dragging the seaweed

Awww...sisters

She's strong to pull that big thing!

Learning and Play

A few pictures from their week a couple weeks ago.

Teen Bingo.  Paige has a difficult time remembering the teen numbers by site.
She understands the concept and can count to them, but is having a difficult time
remembering what the actual number is called when she see it.
This game really helped her practice & is liked it.

Teen Bingo Cards

Our summer reading challenge from her tutor.
We're going to make it!

Always fun coloring

Independence Day 2014

A bunch of pictures from our Independence Day.  We stayed home and swam, roller skated in the backyard, BBQ'd and lite some fireworks.  It wasn't too hot this year either.  Very nice and relaxing day.

I made apple pie.  I only had one pie crust so I put a crumble topping on it.

Paige & a sparkler

Yay sparklers!

Our grand final lie.  Two fountains elevated on bricks.  WooHoo.
The girls make these fire cracker decorations in school.
My how I will miss this stuff when they are older and not making it anymore

Rollerskating

Ribs for dinner!  Paige gummed them very well.

Hailey at school

Mrs. Hart sent me this picture of Hailey at school.  She is building words with the movable alphabet.  Montessori education is so great.  So proud of our Hailey.

Another tooth!

Paige's other front tooth came out unexpectedly in the swimming pool while she was playing doggie and carrying a ball in her mouth.  Go figure.  So now her kindergarten smile is complete with two missing front teeth.
PS...Brian was a very good Dada and searched the bottom of the pool for the tooth and actually found it for the Tooth Fairy to retrieve!

Phoenix Children's Museum

I finally took the girls to the Children's Museum of Phoenix.  It is located in a old school building that has been retrofitted and updated.  It's gorgeous!  And extremely well planned with multisensory areas that all kids can learn and enjoy.  I was pleasantly surprised and really glad we went.  We spent 5 hours there!  Paige's favorite part was the Noodle Jungle and Hailey likes the Fairy land.  They also had a room with an instructor who did a hands on exercise about using 911.  Good day.
